Supporting Worthy Causes
Spring is nearly upon us, and we have the task of deciding where we want our yearly donations to go. Whether it is money, time, physical items, or services, there are a lot of good causes out there that we want to support in the ways that we are able.
Here are a few of the organizations/causes we are supporting this year:
Mack Attack – Mack Attack follows and supports Makenzie Wynegar, the daughter of our good frineds, Ann and Justan Wynegar. Early on in her still very young life, Makenzie was diagnosed with Hurlers Syndrome, a very rare disease which affects how her body breaks down sugars. This ever smiling, almost two year old, has undergone enzyme treatments, chemotherapy, two bone marrow transplants, and has spent 100+ days in the hospital. Several fundraisers have been held to raise money for her medical care and hospital stay. You can follow Makenzie’s progress here: Mack Attack Facebook Page, and if you are interested in donating, you can link to the current fundraiser here – help out by purchasing a T-shirt, or by making a cash donation: Mack Attack Fundraiser.
Future Generations HealthCare Foundation – This foundation raises funds for the Butler County Health Care Center with the purpose of aiding in the recruitment of good doctors to their rural community hospital and to help with the purchase of new hospital equipment. To find out more about the foundation and ways you can support it, visit their website here: Foundation Website. Or, if you like to shop on Amazon, shop through this link: Amazon Shopping/Donation Link and Amazon will donate a portion of your total purchase amount to the foundation.
Aquinas/St Mary’s Catholic Schools and Emmanuel-Faith Lutheran School – These schools had a hand in shaping who we both are today. Each year Aquinas holds a “Gold Rush” event to raise funds for school programs. To learn more about Aquinas-St Mary’s Catholic Schools or the Gold Rush 500 fundraiser for 2015, visit their site: Aquinas Website or to learn more about Emmanuel-Faith Lutheran School visit their website here: Emmanuel-Faith Website
Omaha North High School Track & Field program – Eric’s brother coaches for the Omaha North track team. With school funding not being able to cover costs of all school activities offered anymore, the Omaha North track and field program is holding a fundraiser to aid in supplying their athletes with the resources they need to be successful in reaching their track and field aspirations. Their goal is to raise $2000 by March 22nd – every donation helps! Donate here if interested: Omaha North Track & Field Fundraiser Page
